According to Drapers, premium womenswear brands Mulberry, Cacharel and Rebecca Brown have signed up for Pitti W_Woman Precollection, a new show that will be running with the men's event, Pitti Uomo in Florence on January 9-12.
Pitti Uomo is one of the most important menswear shows in the world. It is a huge platform that opens the season to international fashion.
Pitti Uomo is usually run for menswear only but for the first time womenswear brands are going to be included (Pitti W_Woman).
It sounds like many designers and store owners are excited for the introduction of the womenswear brands into the show.
A spokeswoman from Cacharel said: "January is important for Cacharel because it is the beginning of a new launch with design duo Eley Kishimoto. Pitti W__Woman is the first worldwide fair to show the autumn collections and it will attract the whole international press."
About 25-30 thousand buyers from all over the world attend the show every year and there will be 40 different collections to view. The opening show will take place in the Dogana on Via Valfonda in Florence.
