The Golden Age of Couture
Something worth checking out is the Golden Age of Couture at London's Victoria and Albert Museum going on now until January.
The exhibition takes a look at the launch of Christian Dior's New Look in 1947, which is a landmark in fashion history. It was a time of celebration as the war was over and the birth of a new era began.
In Paris, couture house Balenciaga attracted the attention of the world for its elegant and glamourous collections. The production of couture was important for both Britian's and France's economy and helped to move fashion forward and helping to make couture houses global brands.
